Native American Flute Song - Power Song of the Eagle

When a baby eaglet is born, the parent eagle can see the egg wobbling around. While the parent can see the eaglet struggling to break free from the shell, it cannot help. The baby eaglet needs the struggle to gain strength in its wings. In The Power Song of the Eagle, Pamela Whitman plays a traditional Nez Perce eagle song on her Eagle flute. In the second part of the song, she imitates the birth process of the eaglet using special effects and improvisational techniques.

Beyond The Wall

Pamela Whitman has interwoven a Traditional Israeli flute song with a traditional Palestinian flute song. The photos were taken by Arab and Jewish children during the Kids With Cameras Jerusalem Project. Read Photographer Jason Eskenazi’s fascinating account of teaching photography to Arab and Jewish kids.   “ The goal of the project was to make a portrait of Jerusalem from each side of the divide.”
